Michael “Mike” Bordovsky, Sr., 67, of Dayton, entered the golden gates of heaven on August 12, 2017.  He was born on March 22, 1950 in Houston, Texas to the late George and Margaret Bordovsky. 

He graduated from South Houston High School in 1968 and joined the US Marines with six of his friends.  Prior to leaving for boot camp, he proposed to Dolores Brunkenhofer by asking to exchange his high school ring for an engagement ring on April 12, 1969.  He was stationed in Japan for 15 months and would regularly send Dolores gifts from Japan.  Mike and Dolores married on August 6, 1971 and spent 46 years together and had 3 wonderful children.  Following the military, he joined Armco Steel and then went on to have a 34-year career with Kinder Morgan, formerly GATX terminals.  He was a loving husband, dad, papaw, great-papaw and was the best friend anyone could have, he never met a stranger, for all that knew loved him.  Through the years, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, trips to the casino and being involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives and attending their activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; daughter, Michell Newman; daughter, Kimberly George and husband Steven; son, Michael Bordovsky and fiancé Bernadette Golden; grandchildren, Ashton Newman, Zachary Newman, Hailey George, Carley George, Kinley George, McKenna Bordovsky, McKayla Bordovsky, Emma Smith and an unborn grandchild to be named after him, Michael Joseph Bordovsky, III “Trey”; great-grandson, Wyatt George; sisters, Jean Rayhill, Barbara Simmons and Marjorie Solley; brother, George “Butch” Bordovsky and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
