Allen Gerard Dusek, 74, resident of Crosby, passed away January 3, 2020, in Baytown, Texas. 

 

Allen was born on November 11, 1945 in East Bernard, Texas to parents Charles (Karel) and Olga Smaistrla Dusek. He was a graduate of Wallis High School and University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering. He worked as a chemical engineer for Charter Oil, Hill Petroleum, and Valero all at the same refinery for 49 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Chapter 3229 and Sacred Heart Assembly 3435, several HLSR committees, and the Gasoline Alley BBQ cook-off team. 

 

Allen was a fun-loving, adventurous and caring husband, father of three and grandfather of four. He enjoyed many outdoor activities: hunting with his sons and grandson; barbecuing his famous chicken and ribs; coaching his sons’ soccer and baseball teams; attending UH football games with his family and all Texans games with his friends; and spending time at his vacation house on the Frio River. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest son, Brad Jerard Dusek. He was survived by his wife, Madelyn Rod Dusek; children, Ashley Allyn Sotelo and husband Salvador Sotelo, Charles Garrett Dusek and wife Aubrey Hepler; grandchildren, Caleb, Dylan, Breylenn and Ashlenn; sisters, Clarice Henry, Dianne Emmons; and brothers, Donald Dusek, James Dusek, Charles Dusek, and Kenneth Dusek.

 

Memorial Services will be held at Sterling White Funeral Home, Highlands, Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 5-8 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crosby, Texas at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Crosby.
