Tribute

 

Betty Jo Carroll, age 96, passed away September 14, 2021 in Houston, Tx.  The daughter of George Maurice and Ruth Elizabeth Hoover, she was born in Tiffin, Mo, on March 2, 1925.  While working in Kansas City, Mo, she met the love of her life, Warren Edward Carroll.  They were married on May 14, 1948 and remained devoted to each other for 60 years.  Betty Jo was employed as a secretary at St. John's United Methodist Church in Baytown, Tx and a secretary in the petrochemical industry in Deer Park, Tx with Brown and Root and Diamond Shamrock.  While living in Baytown, Tx, she was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church for over 40 years.  Upon retiring, she and Warren moved to Bedias, Tx and enjoyed living the country life at "The Farm".  While living in Bedias, she was a member of the Texas garden club "Tri-County Diggers" in Bedias and a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Tx where she was active in the church choir.  After Warren's passing in 2008, Betty Jo moved to Houston, Tx to live with her son, Eddie & wife Becky, and then later moved to League City, Tx to live with her daughter, Cindy.  Betty Jo worked as a receptionist at Eddie's place of business, Southeast Drywall, until the age of 93.  She was a member of New Beginnings Church in League City, Tx.

 

Betty Jo's family was her life and was lovingly known as "Mema".  She is survived by 3 children:  Eddie Carroll and wife Becky, of Houston,Tx, Cindy Medearis of League City, Tx, and Ritchie Carroll and wife Suzy, of Bedias, Tx;  Seven grandchildren, Kelly West & wife Sunny, Niki Powell, Crystal Hayes & husband Michael, Lindsey Kimble & husband Chris, Stephanie Patke & husband Ronnie, Timary Beaudry & husband Nick, Geoffrey Carroll & wife Kory; eleven great-grandchildren, Jake, Baillie, Kaylynn, Jordan, Ashley, Carter, Mason, Caroline, Everley, Kate & Locksley; one great great grandchild; Miyah.  Visitation will be Friday, September 24, 2021, from 12-2 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX.

 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Kelly West, Geoffrey Carroll, Kevin Powell, Jake Powell, Michael Hayes & Chris Kimble.  Honorary pallbearers are David Stone, Mel Stone, Charles Stone, Roland Carroll, Randy Carroll, Steve Hoover, Mike Hallford, Mark Bach, Dan West, Jody Stone, Nick Beaudry & Ronnie Patke.
