Charles Edward Rooks Sr.

Charles Edward Rooks Sr., 60 of Crosby, Texas, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 14, 2020. He was born on July 25, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Bennie Ray Rooks Sr. and Bernice Agnes Kadura Rooks. Charlie was a previous member of the North Shore Rotary Club, and a lifetime member of the Crosby Fair and Rodeo. He was always giving and donated much of his time to help his community. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Charlie was a great cook and was known for his wonderful fried chicken. His family and friends were very important to him, especially his granddaughters. Charlie was an awesome man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bennie Rooks Sr; and sister-in-law, Carol Rooks.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Tina Rooks; daughter, Tiffany Murley and husband Cameron; son, Charlie Rooks Jr. and wife Alyssa; grandchildren, Paisley Murley, Kyndall Baker, and Anistyn Rooks; sisters, Judy Guzman and Brenda Rooks; brothers, Bennie Rooks Jr. and wife Linda, Larry Rooks, and Tommy Rooks and wife Toni; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Duane McDaniel, Pat Kinsler, James Clark, Kyle Walker, Evan Babineaux, Jeff Robinson, Randy Parisher, and Chuck Radney. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronny Ehrlich.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Fellowship of The Nations, 13305 Woodforest Blvd, Houston, TX 77015. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30a.m. with Pastor Locke Brady officiating. Interment will follow in Sterling-White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562.
