Claude Michael Thompson of Crosby, age 68- passed away Wednesday April 3, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Michael was born January 12, 1951 in Silsbee, Texas the son of the late Claude S. Thompson and Frances Imogene Shivers Ward. Michael served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Tuscalosa. While in the Navy he attended Annapolis Naval Academy and later went on to attend Texas State University. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and camping. He had a great sense of humor, patriotic, and had a love for life. His passion was for his family and especially his two beloved grandchildren. Michael’s enjoyment of motorcycles led him to be the owner and operator for twenty five years of Houston Motor Trike.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his two brothers Hughey Lee Richardson and Dwight Richardson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty-six years Sharon S. Thompson of Crosby, son Michael Myron Thompson of Crosby, a daughter Jennifer Michelle Abernathy and her husband Ronny of Crosby, and his brother Patrick Thompson and wife Barbara Church of Pensacola, FL. In addition he leaves his two grandchildren Emily Layne Abernathy and Peyton Michael Abernathy, uncle and aunt Joel and Jeannie Thompson, cousin Joey Thompson and wife Valerie. He also leaves his favorite running buddy Jackson. Michael will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Michael will be held Monday April 8, 2019 from 6-8PM at Sterling White Chapel 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas.
