Eddie Don Slaughter

Eddie Don Slaughter, 79, of Crosby, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was born on July 26, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Woodrow Burton and Dorothy Nell Slaughter. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Allen on August 11, 1962 and together they were blessed with five children, Tammy, Nancy, Cynthia, Ricky, and Deborah. Eddie was a firm believer in the Lord; and was a faithful member and an Elder for 2nd Street Church of Christ in Channelview. Eddie was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Eddie was preceded in death by his (parents) Woodrow and Dorothy Slaughter; (sister) Darlene Landrum; (brother) Darrel Slaughter; (daughter) Deborah Annette Fletcher; (granddaughter) Melinda Sue Johnson; and (son-in-law) Dwayne (Kojak) Hayes.

He is survived by his wife Betty of 59 years; children, Tammy Johnson and husband Dwayne, Nancy Hayes and husband Marty, Cynthia Hayes, and Ricky Slaughter and wife Linda, son-in-law, Steve Fletcher; grandchildren, Darrel Hayes and wife April, Michael Hayes, Eric Hayes and wife Elizabeth, Shelby Fletcher, Glenna Hayes, Katelynne Fletcher, Phillip Hayes and wife Hanan, Bradley Hayes and wife Denise, and Brandon Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Eric Hayes Jr., Elijah Hayes, Ethan Hayes, Malachi Hayes, Carson Lewis, Raelynn Halt, Delilah Sharp, and Jáázaniah Hayes; brother, Lonnie Slaughter and wife Cyndy; and a host of extended family and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Sterling White Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, October 23, 2021 also at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
