Edith Jane Brough

On January 28th 2019, Edith Jane Ann (Stiefel) Brough of Highlands, Texas passed away in her home. Born on June 5th 1931, Jane was a lifelong resident of the Baytown/Highlands area. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Herman Kirby Brough,  parents Harold Sr and Beatrice Stiefel , her brother Harold Stiefel Jr. ( Bootsey to his Bubba) and a Baby Sister. Jane leaves four children, Robert (Buster) Brough and his wife Rosie Brough, Shirlie Brough Edwards and her husband Terry Edwards, Charles Brough and his wife Dana Brough and Susan Brough Soles and her husband Larry Soles. She was also Grandma to 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Jane also leaves behind her sister in law, Ann Stiefel and niece and nephews Diana Bukey, Mark Stiefel and Randy Stiefel.

As a child, Jane played the piano and became an excellent seamstress. With Herman she raised four children and had impressive gardens and raised Grand Champion New Zealand White show rabbits. In later years she joined the workforce for ten years at Sears. After retiring Jane took on a new role as Family Historian traveling the country scouring Churches, legal and Immigration records taking great pride in documenting her Family’s Genealogy.
