Edith Carol Jones passed away on May 19, 2019 at the age of 64 surrounded by family. She was born on November 6, 1954 to Vernon and Mary Cole in Brawley, California. She worked as a tax secretary and was also a reserve police officer. Edith enjoyed cooking; her specialties were her famous meatloaf, roast beef that she always made on Superbowl Sunday and tacos, because no one else could make them like she did. Her granddaughters were her priority in life, she was a sweet, funny, encouraging and nurturing grandma. She liked to sing, sew, watch westerns and football games, she never missed a Texans game. Edith was a determined, strong-willed and compassionate woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother William “Bill” Cole and her step-father Leon Talley.
Edith is survived by her loving husband Gary “Captain” Jones, son Jason Allen Jones and wife Amber, daughter Elizabeth Carol Jones, granddaughters Jordyn Jones and Lexy Jones, brother-in-law Ken Jones and wife Pat, and her dog companion Nascar. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
