Forrest Glenn “Pogee” Speer, 74, of Crosby, Texas, passed away at his home, with his loving wife Sally by his side on Saturday, September 19, 2020. He was born in Baytown, Texas, on December 13, 1945, to the late John Lee Speer and Laverne Brinkley Speer. He attended Galena Park High School; afterwards he also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. Pogee worked in the oil and gas industry as a plant supervisor for Exxon Mobil. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge #995 in Anahuac, Texas.

Pogee was an energetic person who pursued many interests, some of which were spending time with his family and grandchildren, hunting, and being outdoors. He was also an avid fisherman, spending many afternoons out on the lake. Pogee was an outgoing person who was known for his caring ways. He was one who would give what he had to someone who needed it.

Pogee was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Gene and Marvin Speer. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his wife off 33 years,  Sally; his children Glenn Speer Jr. and wife Trella of Crosby, Texas, Nessa Gutierrez and husband Jorge of Katy, Texas, BJ Fenley and wife Shanna of Highlands, Texas, Sheila Bennett of Crosby, Texas; his grandchildren Bryce, Jessica, Haley and Brooke Gutierrez, Samantha Speer, Sheldon, Chase and Colton Bennett, Kolby Fenley; his brother Jack Speer and wife, Opal, of Arkansas; numerus nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be David Allen, Dane Dalby, EJ McCall, Donald Calhoun, Dustin Clevenger, Kevin Holbrook, Russell Jones and Blake Garland.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in the chapel of Sterling-White Funeral Home at 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas, 77562. A funeral service for Mr. Speer will begin at 2:00 PM with Minister Rick Slaugh officiating. A burial with military honors will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas, 77521.
