Howard Joseph Clauss II

Howard “Ted” J. Clauss II, age 63, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at Kindred Hospital. Ted was born December 13, 1956 in Barberton, Ohio the son of Howard J. Clauss and Beatrice Greenland Clauss. He grew up in a Catholic Church and attended with his mom dad and 7 brothers and sisters. Ted enjoyed all sports, from coaching his children in baseball and softball, to all the Houston and Cleveland based teams. He became a Texan fan but was always a Yankee at heart. A native of Ohio, he graduated from Coventry High School in Portage Lakes, Ohio. He met his wife, Rhonda in 1979 and they were married on June 20, 1980. This year will be 40 years, that they have been married. He was especially fond of returning home for family trips. Ted had an infectious personality and was gifted at telling a story, and never met a stranger. A jokester, Ted’s laugh and smile could light up a room. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He worked for the past thirty-three years as a surveyor and party chief for Williams Brother Construction Company. He would do anything for his family and will be missed incredibly.

He was preceded in death by his father as well as a sister Jeanne Kovac. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-nine years Rhonda Clauss, daughter Sheena Clauss Fusilier and husband David, son Trey Joseph Clauss, mother Beatrice Clauss, brothers John Clauss and wife Carol, Pat Clauss and wife Chae, Larry Clauss, David Clauss, sisters Linda Waldsmith and husband Dave, Grace Ortscheid and husband Marvin. In addition, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation for Ted will be held Friday January 17, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas. Funeral services to be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the funeral home with burial to immediately follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
