Jimmy Ray Johnson

Jimmy Ray Johnson, 61, of Highlands, Texas, passed away December 6, 2019. He was born on February 12, 1958 in Baytown, Texas to James Prentice Johnson and Billie Faye Taylor Johnson.

Jimmy worked many years as Supervisor of Operations for Targa. Even after retiring, he was the boss and would still tell you how and when to do things. He was a daily Facebook blogger, letting you know what was going on in his life. Jimmy was a supportive father and had a special bond with each of his children. He loved being with his family and traveling with them to some of his favorite places like the Frio River and Galveston. He liked deer and dove hunting, fishing, gardening, and overall just being outdoors. Jimmy was a smart and witty man who will be missed by who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Prentice Johnson; brother, Micah Dean Johnson, father-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Cobb; and brother-in-laws, David Wayne Cobb and Kenneth Douglas Cobb.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Deborah Johnson; children, Haley Grayson and husband Collin, Daniel Johnson-Stevens and husband, Bryan, and Jimmy Johnson Jr and wife Christy; grandchildren, William Cullen Johnson, Brennen James Johnson, and Camryn Rae Grayson; mother, Billie Johnson; siblings, Vicki Mullins and husband Ray, and Leslie Johnson and wife Rhonda; mother-in-law, Maxine Cobb; sister-in-laws, Linda Weber and husband Roland, and Stacy Cobb-Jones; loyal canine companions, Sophie Marie, Beth Ann, Ellie Jo, Harper Rose, Lexi Jean, and Maggie Grace; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Sterling White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
