Nita Barker Regan

Juanita Barker Regan, “Nita”, 96, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019. Nita was born on August 1, 1922 in Houston, Texas to Levi J. Guillot and Beulah M. Couvillion Guillot. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School. She married Neal Barker on May 1, 1940, and together they raised their children with high standards. Nita was a long-time resident of Channelview and after retiring, she moved to Crosby. She enjoyed playing Bingo every Thursday night, travelling, and shopping. She never held back to tell you what she really thought. Nita had an outgoing and magnetic personality that will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her former husbands, Neal Barker and Rusty Regan; son, Dennis Barker; parents, Levi and Beulah Couvillion; brother, Raymond Guillot; son-in-law, Wallace Hinson; grandson, Criss Hinson, and great-grandson, James W. Hinson.

Nita is survived by her daughters, Barbara Burrow and husband George, and Mary Helen Wolf and husband Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Leslie Barker; grandchildren, Craig Ball and wife Sherry, Melonie Phillips and husband Lee, Melinda Peterson and husband Jerry, James Hinson and wife Kim, Mistie Broussard and husband Jerrod, Dennis Barker Jr. and wife Michelle, and Mark Wolf and wife Dawn; seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562.
