Julia Elaine (Lollar) Tanner

April 15, 1946 ~ March 4, 2023 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

Our beautiful mother, Julia Tanner, passed away March 4, 2023.  We will miss her everyday as long as we shall live.   Along with deep sorrow, we also feel great relief that our momma is no longer suffering from her many ailments.  She was so very strong but in the end she was ready to go home and reunite with her daddy, momma, granddaughter, nephew and brothers who she loved so much.

She was born Julia Elaine Lollar but she answered to many names; Julia, Julie, Momma, Mom, Mother, Grandma, Gigi and Sis.  Not only did her brothers and parents call her Sis, friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also called her Sis.  Nieces and nephews referred to her as Aunt Sis.  I believe GiGi might have been her favorite.  Only her great- grandchildren called her that and she heard it a lot.  She had 20 great grandchildren from 11 grandchildren.  They were the subject of most of her conversations.

In her younger years, mom was regional manager of Super Duper/Stop n Go convenience stores.  After retiring from full time employment she filled much of her free time by volunteering at Spirit of Sharing’s resale shop which benefitted those in need of assistance in the Liberty community.  She also enjoyed performing with the Liberty Line Dancers affectionately referred to as The Dancing Grannies.

Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and genealogy.  She also loved riding horses and more than anything, she loved fishing.  She looked forward to all holidays when she could tirelessly work in the kitchen preparing an humongous amount of food.

Mom was a Godly woman.  She loved Jesus, family and friends and she was loyal to them all.  When she is described, it is with words such as, kind, generous, beautiful, sweet, loving, tough, strong, funny and generous to a fault.  There are not enough words to describe how much she is loved and will be missed by my brother and I.

Mom is preceded in death by parents Bill and Jewell Alexander Lollar as well as brothers Charles, James and Joseph Lollar.  Also, she is preceded in death by granddaughter Kristen Nicole Williams and nephew Donald Charles Lollar who she raised almost all of his childhood and after when he suffered a catastrophic accident and needed her care.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debra J. and Jess F. Williams II, son and daughter-in-law, David F. and Laura D. Jankowski plus grandchildren Joshua Lyons, Michael Lyons V, Jess Williams III, Michael Hubbard, Kirsten James and Amber Hubbard plus 20 great grandchildren.
