Mary Adel Cotton

Mary Adel Smykal Cotton, 94, of Crosby passed away on April 17, 2021, at Rollingbrook Healthcare in Baytown, Texas. She was born in Sealy, Texas on September 15, 1926, to parents Alois Smykal and Emilie Gregurek Smykal.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the ultimate caregiver who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She sprinkled all her recipes with a dash of love. Mary was a generous and kind person who devoted her life to being a homemaker. She was a faithful Catholic who spent countless hours donating her time and talents doing God’s work. Mary will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-eight years William D. Cotton; brothers Louis Smykal, Jr., Leroy Smykal, Frank Smykal; sisters Betty Petrash and Clara Kovalcik. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Linda Franta and husband Lee; son Ray Cotton and wife Sharon; son William Cotton and wife Carla; grandchildren Melissa Morris & husband Tim, Bryan Franta & wife Trish, Misty Arhlett & husband Jason, Chrissy Provost & husband Damion; Jonathan Cotton, Aaron Cotton & wife Danielle, Baylea Cotton, her brother-in-law August "Buch" Kovalcik; Thirteen great-grandchildren; Three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Jermillo Greene, Barbara Towler & husband Marvin; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be 9-10 AM on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 915 Runneburg Rd. Crosby, Texas 77532. Rosary will begin at 10 AM. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM. Burial and committal will immediately follow at Sterling-White Cemetery in Crosby.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Bryan Franta, Brandon Franta, Tim Morris, Dustin Morris, Jonathan Cotton, Aaron Cotton & Tristan Cotton.
