Mary Sue (Stanford) Reidland

Mary Sue Reidland of Crosby went to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 7th, 2023. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and follower of Jesus. She was 89 years old.

Mary Sue was born in 1933 to loving Christian parents, and was very involved in First Baptist Church, Highlands as a child. As a youth, she enjoyed singing in church, and being a part of the Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps at Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, where she graduated in 1951 near the top of her class. Throughout her life, Mary Sue enjoyed words and learning, and was especially interested in biblical study.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Allan Earnest Reidland, parents, Isaac Thomas and Essie Lee Stanford, and brother Earl Brock Stanford. She is survived by her three children, David Reidland and wife Melinda of Baytown, Emalee Oliver and husband Danny of Crosby, and Isaac (Tom) Reidland and wife Sabrina of Allen. Also, seven grandchildren: Chris Reidland, Josh Reidland, David Oliver, April Lemley, Angie Medley, Sarah Reidland, Evan Reidland, and nine great and great great grandchildren.

Mary Sue and Allan were founding members of VineLife Christian Fellowship in Huffman, TX, where they both enjoyed participating in worship and Christian fellowship. Mary Sue and Allan enjoyed singing together in choir and during congregational worship.  She reflected God’s compassion and gentleness as she encouraged others.

We will gather at Emalee and Danny Oliver's home after the graveside service to enjoy a meal together, and share fond memories as we honor Mary Sue's life.
