Mary Lois Thomas, 80, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. She was born on April 25, 1942 in Houston, Texas to her parents, Daniel Wells and Lois Jackson. Mary was a very independent woman who took on many responsibilities. She was a very loving, caring and passionate person who always opened her doors to others at all times. Some of her hobbies were reading and coking for her family. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary graduated from Jack Yates and went on to receive her Nursing degree from Houston Baptist University pursuing her career as a Nurse for many years. Mary was an active member of Mt. Rose Baptist Church where she loved serving the Lord until becoming ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Wells and Lois Jackson; her brother Daniel Wells Jr.
Mary is survived by her children, Rena Thomas Wilcox, Sylvester Davis, Darrell Gordon, Nathan Gordon, Yvonne Davis and Rhonda Thomas; her sister Evelyn Lowery; numerous of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews along with many cherished friendships she met along the way.
Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Gordon, Van Wilcox, Henry Lowery III, Henry Lowery Jr. and D.J. Gordon.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the chapel of Sterling White Funeral Home. Funeral Services to follow at 11 a.m. officiating Pastor Eric Trimble of “Revaluation Missionary Baptist Church” also at Sterling White Funeral Home.
