Michael Betteridge Files 78 passed away on June 7, 2020. He was born April 6, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Willis Files and Therma Betteridge. After graduating from Ogden High School he served a three year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brazil. He graduated from Brigham Young University then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a hospital administrator in many areas of the country and retired in the Houston area of which he considered home. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, traveling, WW II history, going to the movies and spending time with family.
Mike was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. He was enthusiast about missionary work and teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served as the Baytown ward missionary leader for many years and truly enjoyed working with the church missionaries.
He is preceded in death by his parents Willis and Therma Files and his sister Patricia Files VanAuker.
He is survived by his wife Carol Wotipka Files; daughter Andrea Files; his son and significant other Austin Files and Kimberly Morar; daughter and husband Christine and James Felty; step daughter and husband Brittany and Vince King Ramirez; step daughter and husband Amanda and Remington Ballard; step son and significant other Kenneth Taylor and Leslie Sharp; brother and sister in law William and Kathleen Files; grandchildren James R. Felty, Sierra Felty, McKenna Clark, Jacob Sleiman, Jackson Ramirez, Presley Ramirez, Kenzlie Mosis and Michaela Sturek.
In lieu of flower, the family request that you make donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday June 18, 2020 from 10am -12am at Sterling White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands,Texas 77562. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12pm.Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
