Patricia Jane Hyman

Patricia Jane Hyman (affectionately known as Tender Pat, Love, Mom, Grammy, Mrs. Hyman, and Sister Patsy) met her Savior while surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 16, 2023.  She was blessed with a loving family including her beloved husband of 47 years Nathan Hyman, her children Caleb and Liz Hyman, and Rachel and Jerry Witt, her parents, Robert and Elaine Sayre, and Delmer and Juanita Hyman, her siblings Karen and Harold Haynes, Patricia Diane, Bob and Cindy Sayre, Becky and Val Taylor, John and Julie Sayre, and Rita Dawn.  One of the greatest joys of her life was her grandchildren:  Anna Joy, Shiloh and Zoe Hyman, and Rebekah, Hope, Keyla, and Yeager Witt.

From the age of 4, Patsy knew she would serve the Lord by sharing the Good News with children.  She served in the roles of teacher, children’s pastor, and pastor’s wife for 43 years.  She loved to hear from her “sweet boys and girls” from years ago whose lives were greatly impacted by her love and influence.  She often had the privilege of teaching multiple generations of the same family.  Many of the people she was able to train in children’s ministry continue to use her lessons and methods today.  We have no doubt her legacy will continue for generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Soy Mujer which ministers to young girls in Durango, Mexico. These donations may be coordinated through the Family Church office; make checks payable to Family Church with “Soy Mujer” in the memo.
