Patty Sue Wood

Patty Sue (Wright) Wood, 88, of Crosby, Texas, passed away at Houston Hospice, on Friday, September 25, 2020, with her daughter Linda at her side. Patty was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois, on June 2, 1932.  She and her twin sister Peggy were the youngest of 11 children born to the late Edna Frances (Smith) Wright and William Cook Wright.Patty was a long time resident of Huffman, Texas. She was retired from Memorial Hermann North East Hospital in Humble, where she was employed for many years as unit secretary in the Surgical ICU department.

Patty was an active member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed watching game shows, camping, playing cards, board games and dominoes, and particularly enjoyed any social event at church. 

Patty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, stepmother and friend to many who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Wood; all of her siblings, and her beloved dogs. Patty leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her daughter Linda and son-in law Michael Haseman of Crosby and grandchildren Matthew Haynie, Mark Haseman, and Michael Haseman Jr., 3 great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and her stepdaughters and their families. She also leaves behind three spoiled-rotten cats that her daughter's family has adopted.

Pallbearers are her grandsons Mark and Michael Haseman, great-grandson Devin Haseman, nephews Douglas Haseman, James Richardson and Tyler Richardson. Honorary Pallbearer is her first-born grandson Matthew Haynie

Visitation will be in the chapel of Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd,  Highlands, Texas, 77562, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 1 PM to 2PM. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Victor Frank at Sterling White Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2 PM. Burial will be at Huffman Cemetery immediately following the service.
