Peggy Charlene (Shoup) Jeffcoat

Peggy Charlene Jeffcoat, 89, of Baytown, went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was born on September 12, 1932, in Stephenville, Texas.

Peggy was a very loving and giving person. She enjoyed serving the Lord in many capacities.  Many knew her as the “Garage Counselor.” If you needed to talk, you could always find her working in her yard or sitting in her garage.  No matter what, she would sit down and talk with you. She always said her neighborhood was her mission field. An avid gardener, her favorite flower was the Peggy Jeffcoat Lily.  She was a gifted seamstress and loved to embroider, having sewn over 4,000 Comfort Hearts, and giving them to local charities.   Some made it all the way to Zimbabwe! Peggy will be dearly missed by all that knew her and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Farnum Shoup and Thera Opal Stacey, along with her husband of 49 years, Robert Rawl Jeffcoat, her sister Ethel Louvenia McAdams, and her brothers Danny, Don, and Jimmy Brown.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Burleson and husband Marvin, Lila Kay Cook and husband Joe, Bruce Jeffcoat and wife Rhonda, and Kimberly Lyon and husband David; her grandchildren Bryan and Robert Burleson, Randall and Jason Cook, Christopher Jeffcoat and Carter Lyon; great-grandchildren Jordan, Briggs, and Cannon Burleson, Angelica, Xav, Adric, Joshua, and Jaedyn Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sterling White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas. Funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. in San Jacinto Cemetery, Houston Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request a donation be made to Cedar Bayou Baptist Church Senior Fund or Mission Fund, 3116 North Alexander, Baytown, Texas 77520
