Tribute

Richard DeForrest Bryant, 75, of Baytown, Texas passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Houston, Texas. He was born July 23, 1946 in Baytown, Texas to parents George Bryant and Lucille Maurine Teer Bryant who preceded him in death along with his brothers James Bryant and George Bryant; and his son Richard “Bubba” Bryant Jr. Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Angie Bryant; son Caleb Bryant; sister LaNell Hargrove; grandchildren Whitney Friedericksen and husband Richard, Aaron Cramer, Cole Bryant, and Cheyenne Bryant; great-grandchildren Ryan, Braelyn, and Greyden Friedericksen along with numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Richard grew up in Highlands and graduated from Robert E Lee High School. Throughout his teen years he had a passion for playing baseball, working on cars and showing his animals. After he graduated high school he enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War as a Fuel Specialist. After his years in service he went back to Texas to raise his family and start a career in chemical plant operations. He was a man you could always depend on and a very hard worker. After 30 plus years in plant operations he decided it was time to hang up his hardhat and enjoy doing what he loved. He had a passion for sports, golf, fishing, hunting, gambling and being with his family and attending every event his kids, grandkids and great grandkids had. His biggest joy was being surrounded by his family. He always made sure to attend any event or celebration his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids had and you could always bet he’d be an hour early and on the front row. He was everyone’s biggest fan. If he wasn’t with his family you could find him at home watching ESPN. He will be missed by so many loved ones. “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.”
