Richard Oviedo, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. He was born on August 14, 1937 in Baytown, Texas to Paul Oviedo and Faye Negrete Oviedo. Richard served as a member of the Army Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his number one priority was to make sure that they were supported and provided for. Richard was a huge Houston Astros and Texans fan. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting and watching good old western movies. Richard was a well informed and educated gentleman that will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Oviedo.
Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Guadalupe Oviedo; mother, Faye Oviedo; daughter, Glenda Kay Capers and husband Greg; son, Michael Oviedo; brothers, Arthur Oviedo and wife Irma, and Robert Oviedo and Sylvia; sisters, Christine Renteria, Joann Sistos and husband Roy, and Carolyne Ugalde and husband Ralph; grandchildren, Tiffany Hernandez and husband Felix, Courtney Robison and husband Jarrett, Isabella Oviedo, and Analicia Oviedo; great grandchildren, Arabella Hernandez and Steeley Kay Robison; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Sterling White Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 1:00pm also at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
