Brother Richmond Phillip Jr. of Crosby, Texas passed away September 19, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born April 17, 1938, as the fourth oldest of thirteen children to the late Richmond Phillips Sr. and Viney Gorrell Phillips in Barrett Station, Crosby, Texas.

Richmond was a 1957 graduate of Charles R Drew High School. After High School he attended Texas Southern University for 2 years. He served in the Army in 1959, and for 23 years worked offshore as Executive Steward on an oil drilling rig.

In 2007, Richmond joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Crosby, Texas, under leadership of Pastor C. Carter Sr. In 2012 he was ordained as a Deacon. He was a great crusader for Christ, and was a devoted Sunday school teacher. Richmond had a great interest in raising funds for the paralyzed Veterans with the partnership of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.

Richmond was preceded in death by his parents; his five brothers George Phillips, Vernon Phillips, Robert Phillips, Eddie Phillips, Lester Phillips; his three sisters Shirley Mitchell, Geraldine Reese and Pearl Bundage. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 12 years Kathra Arline Phillips; his four sons Kelvin Phillips of Crosby, Ronald Phillips (May) of Baytown, Russel Phillips (Stephenie) of Houston, and Marcus Phillips of Houston; his daughter Stephanie Crawford (A.C.) of Houston; his five stepdaughters Quettia Geter of Houston, Vivian Cooper (William) of Houston, Geanett Feaster (Jon) of Houston, Terra Williams (Delando) of Hockley, Tonya Jackson (Eric) of Colorado; his only sister, Etta Barrett; his three brothers Dennis Phillips Sr. Wilbert Phillips (Sandra) and Willie Phillips (Sharon); and two sisters-in-law Way Phillips and Sharon Phillips; 18 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2020, in the chapel at Sterling~White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands, Texas, 77562. A Funeral Service for Brother Richmond Phillips will begin at 2:00pm in the chapel at Sterling~White Funeral Home with Pastor Christopher Carter Sr. officiating. A Graveside service and committal will immediately follow at Sterling-White Cemetery.

Honoring the family by serving as active pallbearers will be Bro. Karl Bass, Bro. Eddie Blacknell, Bro. Shanon Brown, Bro. Gary Bundage, Bro. Richard Fontenot, Bro. Arthur Jack, Bro. James Jones. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Kelvin Phillips, Ronald Phillips, Russell Phillips, Marcus Phillips, Dennis Phillips, Wilbert Phillips, Willie Phillips, Cleveland Levy.
