Rogelio Barajas

Rogelio Barajas, 74, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. He was born July 1, 1947 in Harlingen, Texas to parents Filimon Ramirez and Maria Barajas-Reyes who preceded him in death along with his brother Ernesto Barajas.

Rogelio was a very hard working man, he worked construction as a machine operator. He had a strong work ethic and believed working hard was important. Family was most important to Rogelio, and he proudly dedicated his life to provide for them.  At a young age he own his very own Harley motorcycle and the love for motorcycles continued throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, airplanes and any other building projects. Rogelio was a very crafty and handy man and also loved volunteering at St. James House nursing home where his daughter Elvira works. He spent his mornings drinking coffee along with wife while listening to music. He loved to dance “cumbias”, play the keyboard and also DJ. Rogelio was a loving and caring person who will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Rogelio leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Maria Barajas along with his children, Elias Barajas, Maribel Barajas, Elvira Rodriguez and husband Cosme, Roger Barajas and wife Ronica, Jasmine Barajas and husband Gustavo; grandchildren Valery, Delilah and Elias J.R. Barajas; Vince, Imani and Kiana Barajas; Ezmeralda Cullum and husband Jacob, Ramon DeLeon IV and wife Jenifer, Christopher Rodriguez and wife Stephanie, Calista, Cain and Cyrus Rodriguez; Zaiden Cisneros, Moriyah, RJ and wife Ruby and Romiyo Barajas; great-grandchildren Ezra Deleon, Zara Cullum and Julius Barajas and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Sterling White Funeral Home with services to begin at 1:00 p.m. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Elias Barajas, Roger Barajas, Cosme Rodriguez, Gustavo, Christopher Rodriguez, Cain Rodriguez, Cyrus Rodriguez, RJ Barajas, Zaiden Cisneros, Vince Barajas, Romiyo Barajas and Ramon Deleon IV.
