Roger was a man with many different jobs throughout his 68 years.  As a young lad at the age of 7 he told his daddy that he wanted colored jeans and his Daddy said if he wanted them that he would have to buy them.  He said….Daddy what can I do to make money and his Daddy said mow lawns, and Monty asked, can I use your lawn mower…and the answer was no way.  His daddy told him that if they could pay to have their lawns mowed that they would have a working lawn mower. That would begin his working career in the lawn business.  He did eventually buy a lawn mower and hired another little boy to help.  He took great pride in that story and told that too many people along the way for inspiration.

He served in the Air Force for 16.5 years.  He was in admin, then into being on the Radio in Turkey, and then eventually he ended his career in the service as a Recruiter. After that, he went into the Insurance business and after that many sales jobs.  I know he always said I have worked in so many jobs from wearing jeans, boots and digging with a shovel to Suits and Ties when he was a Limo driver and then worked at a Funeral home and an Auctioneer.  He was so proud in his later years to get his Auctioneer license and working at various benefits and was always giddy when he got the next job.  He absolutely loved Auctioneering.

He was a man who was very passionate with everything he did and had strong convictions.   As you may know, he was not afraid to speak his mind and let everyone know where he stood.  That is what we loved about him.

He is survived by his life partner, Donna Hawkins a.k.a Spunky, his daughters Julianna Cieslewicz and her husband Eric, Sherrill Bertrand and her husband Ty, his sister Susie Bow and her husband Mike. Grandchildren include Jordan, Tatum and Kynsleigh, Cousins are Jan and John Sloan and Debbie Ward Lane and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father Stanford P. Ward, Julie R. Laskoskie, his stepfather Edward M. Laskokie Sr., his brothers Michael and Glenn.
