Russell Dale Hargrove, Sr.

November 24, 1955 - April 21, 2024

Russell Dale Hargrove, Sr., beloved husband of Mary Hargrove, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Church Point, Louisiana. He was born on November 24, 1955, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Lanell Hargrove and the late Lloyd Hargrove Sr.

Russell will be dearly missed by his family, including his spouse Mary Hargrove; his children Tiffany Campbell (Monte Campbell), and stepchildren Leslie Turner, Chastity Burt (David Burt), Trey Joy, and Ronald “RJ” Davis. He was a loving grandfather to Kaden Mascorro, Kinsley Campbell, and Peyton Hargrove, as well as step-grandchildren Kiley Saltsman, Cameron Cowen, Jacie and Kason Turner, Bryce Morgan, Sage, Zachary, and Alissa Ayres, David “Little Man” Burt, and Wesley, Joey, and Mason Davis.

Russell is predeceased by brother Lloyd Hargrove Jr, sister Marcia Hargrove, and son Russell Hargrove Jr.

Russell was a graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas, where he excelled as a star athlete in both football and baseball. He led the Ross S. Sterling football team to the 20 AAAA State Finals in 1972 and Quarter Finals in 1973, and the baseball team to the 20 AAAA District Championship in 1974.

Throughout his career in the crane and rigging industry, Russell's expertise and knowledge were widely recognized. He worked across the globe and gained a reputation for his exceptional skills and professionalism.

Russell had a deep passion for sports, and wherever he was, a game could be found on the television. He cherished sharing stories, reminiscing about the good old days, playing pranks, and enjoying a cold drink with friends and family. He was known for his generous spirit and would always lend a helping hand to those in need.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and cherished memories. Russell will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and love for life.

The pallbearers will be Chad Hargrove, Richard Hargrove, Monte Campbell, Payton Hargrove, Doyle Benoit, and Kevin Holbrook. Honorary pallbearers include Carl Cooper, Derek Davis, Jim Holden, and Tom Hill.
