Tony Samuel Houston

Tony “Sam” Samuel Houston passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019. He was born on August 25, 1974 to Tony and Candy Houston. He was raised in Huffman and was very active in the community. He played music for many benefits over the years and charity functions all around the Huffman area, and even sang the national anthem for the opening day of the Huffman baseball park. Sam enjoyed going fishing, riding motorcycles, gardening and just being outdoors. He was very artistic, he liked to draw, paint, write songs, poems and he was known all around for playing music. Sam was free-spirited, outgoing, adventurous and had a heart as big as Texas; he always went out of his way to help people. He had more friends than anyone could count, he was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather John Delbert Houston, maternal grandmother Glenda Rae Hunt, and his uncle Charles Ray Hunt.

Sam is survived by his parents Tony and Candy Houston; daughter Callie Houston & husband Brandon Miller; son Samuel Blake Houston; grandchildren Noah Lee Gaddis and Pepper Jean Houston; sister Mandy Patrick & husband Stephan; nephews Dalton Laxson and Kai Patrick; paternal grandmother Gordie Houston; maternal grandfather William Louis Hunt; uncles Shannon Floyd Hunt and James Houston & wife Monett; aunt Beverly Houston. He is also survived by many many cousins and countless friends.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 2:00-5:00pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 5:00pm also held at Sterling-White funeral home. A burial will take place Monday, April 15, 2019 starting at 11:00am in Lewis Cemetery located in Deridder, Louisiana.
