Tribute

Wanda Maxine Garcia, 71, of Crosby, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born Monday, September 26, 1949, to Alice Lorene Sexton. She attended Westport High in Kanas City Missouri where she met the love of her life Anthony Felipe Garcia. Wanda attended San Jacinto College where she obtained her Cosmetology License.

She was a very loving family-oriented woman, selfless in every step of her life. When you were down, she was able to encourage you without hesitation, and calmly and quietly listened to everything you had to say.  Her pride and joy were spending time with her grandchildren, which were her complete focus. She loved to travel and go shopping with friends and family. She was a beautiful soul who always put God and family first.

In 2019 Wanda was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church.  Wanda loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind.  Her hunger for God was sated as with the choice of food.

Psalm 63: 1-4…

O God, you are my God-
it is you I seek!

For you my body yearns;
for you my soul thirsts,
In a land parched, lifeless,
and without water.

I look to you in the sanctuary
to see your power and glory.

For your love is better than life;
my lips shall ever praise you!

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who knew her. She is preceded in death by her mother Alice Lorene Sexton; her siblings Ida Medlin, Donnie, and Ronnie Sexton, Kenny Sexton, Bobby Jo Sexton, and her nephews Philip and Mark Garcia. Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 54 years Anthony Felipe Garcia; her children Kimberly Cox, and Michelle Morgan; her nephew’s Michael Garcia Jr., Nicholas Garcia, and Travis Richards; her niece, Korie Coyazo; her grandchildren Caleb Williams, Kaci Williams, Aengus Cox; and great-nephews, Liam Garcia, Brendan Garcia, Aiden Garcia, and Mason Garcia; brothers-in-law, Michael Garcia Sr. and James Garcia; son-in-law, John Patrick Cox; daughter-in-law, Leah Fearmonti-Garcia; and many more nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was “Nana” to all of us and loved each as her own child or grandchild.  She will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever remembered.

Honoring the family as Pallbearers will be Caleb Williams, Nick Garcia, Liam Garcia, Brendan Garcia, Travis Richards, and Andrew Klink.
